Here’s what some of our customers have to say…

If you are considering a Gundog, you cannot go wrong with a Griff from Karl. Our 7 year old, Dash, is in his prime and is everything we had hoped for in a pup. He has great instincts, hunts hard, and is a sweetheart who does great in the house. Dash scored a 110, Prize 1 on his NAVHDA Natural Ability test due both to his great instincts and breeding, and the fact that Karl was willing to take him back for several months of training in his first year. This key early exposure and focused attention really helped Dash develop a fantastic drive and cooperativeness.

I purchased a Griff from Karl Groszkruger several years ago. Gus is now 6 and has far exceeded my expectations. Between upland and waterfowl, Gus and I logged a little over 20 days in the field this year. He has great prey drive, but is also very biddable, and checks back with me frequently. He has a fine nose, a very solid point, and is a good retriever. We hunt mostly in southwest Nebraska. Conditions can be pretty rough. His tight, harsh, dense coat is just what the doctor ordered. I’ve also hunted with several of Karl’s other dogs and have found them to be of similar exceptional quality and character.

Gus is also a treat around the house. Although he is pretty high energy in the field, he easily switches to chill mode at home. He is very well mannered, and has a wonderful temperament. He’s also really funny.

I should add that Karl and Mandy were extremely supportive after I brought Gus home. Gus was my first Griff, and Karl spent a lot of time on the phone with me helping me get the most out of our training sessions.

I would recommend Sand Creek Kennels to anyone looking to add a Griff to their family.

My name is David Baumeister. I purchased a pup from Karl‘s first litter. My pup’s name is Marley. She will be one year old in February 2025. She weighs forty-four pounds and she has a medium dense harsh coat. She’s a house dog and LOVES PEOPLE! I hunt pheasants in Wisconsin and wild roosters in Iowa with her. She is solid on point and a natural bird retriever to my hand.  At her young age right now she’s unbelievable at her hunting skills. I have pictures of Marley and my phone number is 608-512-0223 if you would like to know more.

Karl and Mandy have been a large part of my Griffon experience, starting 8 years ago when I picked up my female, Lou (Stonyridge Venus), from them.  Since then we have developed a strong friendship based on amazing dogs, training, testing conversations and hunting. They have put in the hard work to develop the knowledge necessary to produce outstanding dogs who are both hunting partners and family members.  Choosing to purchase a pup out of their first litter as Sand Creek Kennels was an easy choice to make, even though distance made it so I couldn’t visit the pups as they were developing.  I trusted Karl and Mandy to choose a pup for me who would have the potential to become a stud; “Zeke” was the chosen pup, and I couldn’t be happier.  In his first season of hunting he found lost game, has a natural retrieve and is highly cooperative in nature which is matched only by his prey drive and desire to hunt. I have watched him locate coveys of huns and chukar from 300 yard distances; his nose is incredible and he is already honoring/backing our other dogs.  As a family member, Zeke easily joined in with our other two Griffons, playing as pups do, but learning quickly how to have good manners and be respectful.  He is intelligent, fun, and has just the right amount of sass.  I am currently training him for his Natural Ability test in May, but am already looking forward to his journey into training for the Utility and Gun Dog tests, as he is that athlete who is coachable and capable. If you are looking to add a pup to your family, Sand Creek Kennels won’t disappoint.  Karl and Mandy will be your trusted breeder, available to support your journey long after the puppy is picked up.
